In this sea
there is no life yet
Draw life
and create
a rich ocean world
Draw a line and create your own ocean

This website is a digital art piece inspired by the chaos of a silent sea.
A single line you draw is transformed into a living creature by algorithms and released into the digital sea. They interact, prey on each other, form schools, and eventually fade away like sea foam. Enjoy the moment your creation becomes part of this fleeting ecosystem.

Thank you for visiting "The Deep Sea Cycle." This site is a modest "drawing site" for you to enjoy casually. Whether taking a break from work or study, or simply in the mood to create something, I hope it offers a moment of quiet relaxation.
There is nothing difficult about it. Just draw a single line in the drawing area and press the "Create Creature" button. The line you drew will gently come to life and set off into the quiet sea. Start by simply enjoying this small transformation without thinking too much.
If it ended there, this would be a simple "drawing site." But if you are curious about what lies beneath the surface, let me share a few of the details and playful touches I quietly built in.
The truth is, you cannot fully control what creature your drawn line becomes. Its role is determined partly by chance. It might become a school of nimble small fish, or a majestic large creature swimming gracefully. This surprise of "what will it become?" is one of the joys I wanted to create.
The creatures born in this sea do not simply swim from right to left. They are given simple rules that make them feel alive.
Creatures sometimes dash powerfully, stop as if remembering something, or form schools when they meet companions. Their movements are born from a combination of coded logic and random whimsy, never the same twice.
Even in this quiet sea, a small food chain exists. As life increases, the sea gradually becomes richer and "plankton" appear. Plankton drifting like stars in the dark sea serve as food for creatures. And then, predators appear to hunt those creatures. A small but definite circle of life revolves here.
On the other hand, small fish tend to gather around the large creatures I named "Gentle Giants." Perhaps they serve as a temporary refuge for fish fleeing from predators.
These interactions interweave to create unpredictable stories constantly flowing through this sea. Even I cannot fully predict them. That is precisely why I enjoy visiting this sea from time to time, watching the dramas that newly born creatures create.
There is another reason I titled this site "The Deep Sea Cycle." I wanted to express the finite nature of life in this sea.
The creatures you create, unfortunately, do not live forever. They may be eaten by predators, or when the population grows too large, the oldest ones quietly disappear. As they fade, they lose their light and slowly sink to the bottom of the sea, as if returning to sea foam.
Digital data can theoretically exist semi-permanently. But I deliberately added the rule of "disappearing" because I believe the essential beauty of life resides in that transience. A creature you created disappears, and in its place, a new creature is born. That cycle repeats endlessly. Precisely because it is digital, I wanted to express this organic "flow of life."
I may have gotten a bit philosophical, but please forget all that. At its core, this site is simply meant to be casually enjoyable.
Hide the UI and gaze at it in fullscreen, zoom in to follow your favorite creature, or endlessly create new life. How you enjoy it is entirely up to you.
I look forward to seeing what colors your single drawn line adds to this small sea, and what stories it creates.
Please feel free to come back and visit this quiet sea anytime.
