NEON TETHER COMBAT
Wire Action ShooterAbout
Overview
"Wire Action Shooter" is a unique action shooting game where you catch enemies with a wire, swing them around powerfully, and slam them into other enemies to destroy them.
Capture enemies, control your ship, and swing dynamically! Aim at other enemies for chain hits and high scores.
The harder you slam, the higher your score, and consecutive kills (combos) dramatically multiply your score. How far can you progress through the stages and achieve the highest score?
Basic Controls
Movement and wire actions are separated for clear, responsive control.
- Move: On touchscreens, drag anywhere like a trackpad and your ship moves by the same relative motion. You never need to cover the ship, and lifting then repositioning your finger will not make it jump. On PC, the ship follows your mouse cursor—no need to hold a button (dragging works too). Tapping the field never fires the wire by mistake.
- Fire Wire: Tap the WIRE button at the bottom of the screen to auto-lock and fire at the nearest highlighted enemy in range. If no target is available, the wire fires straight ahead. Choose its lower-left or lower-right position on the title screen.
- Capture Enemy: When the wire hits an enemy, it captures that enemy.
- Swing & Slam: Move your ship in a circle with your finger (or mouse) to swing the captured enemy. Crash it into other enemies to deal damage. When the yellow meter at the bottom fills, you are "SLAM READY."
- Throw / Release: Until you build enough speed and rotation, the lower-right action reads RELEASE and lets the enemy go without attacking. It recovers briefly, resumes attacking, and cannot be recaptured for a short time. After roughly one rotation with enough speed, the action changes to THROW and launches it with its current momentum.
- Capture Durability: Captured enemies break after blocking bullets or hitting other enemies several times, so catch a new one!
- PC Shortcuts: Move with the mouse. Right-click or press Space to auto-lock and fire at the nearest enemy. Press P or Esc to pause and M to toggle background music and sound effects.
Turn Enemies into Weapons
Special enemies keep their abilities after capture, turning each one into a different weapon. A short hint appears the first time a new type enters the run.
- BOMB: Swing it for about three rotations until it flashes rapidly and displays "BOMB ARMED." Slam it into an enemy or boss to trigger an area explosion.
- SHIELD: Swing it hard after capturing it to trigger "SHIELD UP" and project a larger blue defense field that clears enemy fire. The field closes when you stop swinging. Use it to block a barrage while continuing to slam enemies directly.
- SPARK: A direct slam sends chain lightning into nearby enemies. It is most effective against tightly grouped targets.
- MAGNET: While captured, it pulls nearby enemies together, setting up repeated impacts and larger combos.
Waves and Overdrive
The run advances through 1ST WAVE, 2ND WAVE, and 3RD WAVE. Defeat each boss to advance. After clearing 3RD WAVE, the counter stops increasing and the run enters OVERDRIVE, where every enemy type and rotating boss gimmick continue at rising intensity. Boss durability, attack tempo, and gimmick pressure increase in tuned steps as the run continues.
BOMB is especially effective against ARMOR CORE, SHIELD counters BULWARK's barrage, SPARK overloads DYNAMO, and MAGNET destabilizes SINGULARITY. Other captured enemies still deal damage, but choosing the right weapon gives a major advantage.
Bosses cannot be erased by a single impact. Use the matching weapon to break armor, barriers, and cores in short stages. ARMOR CORE and DYNAMO usually take three matching slams, or two with a fully accelerated critical hit. Impact beyond the per-hit limit becomes an OVERKILL score bonus.
Tips for High Scores
Here are some tips to achieve a high score.
- Fast & Multi-Spin Swing: Swing the captured enemy faster and with more rotations before slamming it into others to greatly increase damage and score. This is the most important point!
- Maintain Combos: Defeating enemies in quick succession triggers "combos" with large score multipliers. Keep the tempo up and target the next enemy before your combo breaks!
- Mass Takedowns: Slam the swung enemy into a group of enemies to take out multiple targets at once. This is key to maintaining combos.
- Use Items: Collect healing items that occasionally appear to survive tough situations.
- Boss Strategy: Bosses are tough, but you can deal massive damage by capturing enemies and slamming them at high speed. Learn the boss attack patterns and deal damage consistently.
